Admin Users and Roles

Learn how to add and manage team members, and assign roles to them within your organization.

Admin User Roles

Admin users are Checkin Bay users who have access to your organization and queues. There are three types of admin user roles. Owners, Editors and Check-ins Manager.

  • Check-ins Manager can only add, remove and manage the check-ins for queues that they have access to.
  • Editors have access to all queues and do all of what check-ins manager can do. In addition, they can create, delete queues, change queue settings, and add/remove check-ins managers.
  • Owner has full control over the organization. They can do all of what an editor can do. In addition, an owner can manage subscriptions, add/remove editors, and delete the organization.

Creating a Check-ins Manager user requires the selection of queues the user has access to. So first set up queues in your organization before adding Check-ins Manager users.

Inviting Admin Users

You can invite new users anytime from within the Organizantion's settings page by clicking the Invite User button. Give a nickname, the email of the user you would like to add, and their role. If you select the role as Check-ins Manager, then you would also have to select the queues you would like them to manage. When done, click on Create.

When the invited user logs into admin.checkinbay.com, they will be notified of this invite. The invited users can either accept or reject the invitation. When the invited users accept the invitation, the will get access to your organization and queues per the role you had selected.

Please note that creating an invite does not trigger an email to the invited users. You are responsible for informing them to use Checkin Bay. When they log in to admin.checkinbay.com with the same email provided in the invite, they will see the option to accept or reject your invitation.

Managing Users and Roles

The User Access section in the Organizantion's settings page will list all users in the organization. This will include invited users who are yet to accept the invitation, which will be denoted by a Pending Acceptance badge. You can remove sent invites pending acceptance at any time. You can also remove or edit roles and access of existing users from this section.
